The Ten Best PWG Workers

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Discussion

Well, if you're talking to me... I have Quick rated higher than T.J.

I didn't even see Quick on the list.

I love Bosh, but he's been a bit sloppy lately. And he really gets hurt an awful lot -- it's unfortunate, but I think it also reflects poorly on his style.

How many times has Bosh gotten hurt lately? Aside from getting KO'd by Dragon, and having a back injury like six months ago, that's hardly "an awful lot" as you put it.

Ronin gets a lot of heat for having a really terrible look; I don't really think that's to his credit as a worker.

He's gotten heat for his treatment of Nemesis when they teamed, and for being a dick. It's not just for his look.

I think he does a lot of things well, but he's not a great seller and his matches are reeeeaaaaallly slow.

*Snip*

I still think he's a level above Ronin.

TJ's matches also tend to be really slow, and a lot of things he does go over the heads of most fans. Ronin doesn't need to go really fast in his matches all the time, and he does a good job when he needs to go full speed and does well for a guy his size. His selling isn't great, but he's not exactly working with guys who rely on matches that need a lot of selling in matches. I'd put Ronin way above Perkins anyday of the week.

1) El Generico
2) Davey Richards
3) Super Dragon
4) Chris Hero
5) Chris Sabin
6) Scorpio Sky
7) Claudio Castagnoli
8) Kevin Steen
9) Quicksilver
10) T.J. Perkins

I'd rank Joey Ryan over Sky, Quick, TJ, and Steen honestly.

Are we talking "workers" here or "wrestlers"?

I agree that there are better "wrestlers" than these two, but if we're basing this on "workers" then I would rate Joey Ryan & Scorpio Sky pretty high on the list. Not only do they have dedication to their characters, but as in the case of Ryan, he actually down plays his in ring ability to come off as a better heel. I have seen him at some recent EWF shows working as a babyface and he really works his ass off. I think it's a testiment to his ability as a heel to make sure that whoever he faces comes off as a better wrestler than him, even if he goes over on them. I don't think anybody has ever lost credit by taking a loss to him. As far as Sky goes, he has cut a lot of his traditional high flying offense to not outshine his opponents. I don't know, maybe I'm just a mark for characters in wrestling, but I would rate these two pretty high as far as working the audience and working a gimmick.

1) Kevin Steen
2) Chris Hero
3) Chris Daniels
4) Scott Lost
5) Joey Ryan
6) Super Dragon
7) Chris Bosh
8) AJ Styles
9) Frankie Kazarian

Actually, Alex Shelley would stand on 1) in my list, but he isn't often in the Shows of PWG..

I would write reasons for my decisions, but my english isn't very well, so I decided to don't do this.

It's hard for me to put Super Dragon in the Top 10 since he's been injured for the past few months. But when he was around, i'd rate him in the Top 10.

2. El Generico
3. Chris Hero
4. Claudio Castagnoli
5. Chris Sabin
6. Scott Lost
7. Quicksilver

Other guys I enjoy watching who aren't regulars

Colt Cabana
