Fantastic recommendation. 'Mantis is one of the coolest wrestling characters ever conjured, and he's very underrated when it comes to in-ring talent. And unlike many CHIKARA originals, I don't think he's ever had an exhibition/opportunity for a major promotion. He'd fit the wacky side of PWG perfectly.

On top of that, I think the potential of 'Mantis/Excalibur doing commentary is... I can't even begin to imagine.

personally, I say bring him back as a wrestler because he isn't really that bad of a wrestler and I definitely think PWG should bring in other Chikara guys like The Colony (especially Fire Ant and Soldier Ant), Helios (but not as Ricochet), Team FIST, Jigsaw, UltraMantis Black, and Hallowicked, and the Osirian Portal as well as Eddie Kingston and Mike Quackenbush, obviously, plus 2.0 and Super Smash Brothers as well

revisiting some other people I have been suggesting in this thread several pages back

Chimaera would be great, especially since he's local, bring him in with Chris Kadillak and Peter Avalon as well, maybe around next year or something

hopefully PWG finally debuts Kota Ibushi for BOLA or something, would love to see KENTA and Nakajima, maybe bring in Takeshi Morishima or Naomichi Marufuji if PWG decides to establish a working relationship with NOAH and maybe DDT with guys like KUDO and Danshoku Dino

speaking Dino, I have no clue why but PWG should book him, Giant Tiger, and the one night only return of Topgun Talwar in what might be the most disturbing and creepiest match I have ever thought of

also, I hope PWG works something out and bring back Scorpio Sky and Ronin one day, either as a tag team again or just put them in singles again, I know lots of people weren't really big on Ronin but I didn't think he was that bad and could do well working well with the more recent local guys

I know it might seem a stupid idea but I still want PWG to book the Giant Bernard, also formerly known as A-Train or Prince Albert to everyone, whenever he's available not working with NJPW, maybe have him teaming up with Karl Anderson or put him against somebody like Davey Richards, Chris Hero, or Roderick Strong, I think he'd a solid big guy for PWG to use and the guy has been awesome in NJPW anyways

speaking of solid big guy, I really think PWG should bring in Brodie Lee, put him against either LTP or Malachi Jackson in his 1st match and I think he'd get over with PWG fans real quickly

some more veteran guys to help establish everyone, bring in Dave Taylor, Jorge "Skayde" Rivera (whether teaming with Mike Quackenbush or not), Lance Storm, 2 Cold Scorpio, or, like TigerDriver98 has been suggesting at times, Marty Janetty, I think any of those 4 would do really well in PWG, especially if RVD isn't a one time deal next year

maybe bring in some Big Japan guys, especially Daisuke Sekimoto and Masada, not to be confused with MAZADA, who teams with NOSAWA in Tokyo Gurentai although I wouldn't mind seeing those 2 back in PWG, but anyways, Masada is already working here SoCal but its for XWW of all places and he's taking on Mr. California of all people and I honestly think Masada deserves better than that

some new Dragon Gate guys, hopefully one of these at BOLA, like YAMATO, Masaaki Mochizuki, or BxB Hulk and maybe bring back KAGETORA as well or maybe bring back the Kaientai Dojo like MIYAWAKI or Madoka or something

also, if PWG really wants to focus on a women's division, bring back Sara Del Ray and Lufisto while bring in Cheerleader Melissa and Amazing Kong, also bring in Carla Jade as well

also bring in Eddie Edwards and Rhett Titus, maybe have them team with Davey Richards and Kenny King respectively, probably will be at PWG for the WrestleReunion show but I think those guys could do alright in PWG anyways

now seeing that Shelley and Sabin are in PWG despite being in TNA, hopefully Doug Williams and Homicide make a return to PWG one day

and probably will never really happen but I would like to see Minoru Suzuki and Yoshihiro Takayama in PWG, I think those 2 would be awesome for a special appearance and yeah, I don't really expect PWG to bring everyone I mention but it doesn't hurt to dream, right?

hate to double post but to suggest a few more, I'm hearing Alex Koslov is leaving AAA to take some freelance work, so I hope PWG brings him back for a few shows and also, speaking of AAA, Jack Evans is working some shows in SoCal against the Young Bucks with Teddy Hart, I really would love for the PWG return of Jack Evans and maybe even Teddy Hart

It seriously would. There's a lot PWG could do with a guy like 'Mantis. He's solid in the ring and excels at promos and commentary. He's also got a great look to boot. I'm slowly starting to get big into the idea of him being brought in for BOLA in November. Have him face Generico in R1 and prepare to be entertained.

I've always loved the random entries into the tourney they do (like Omega last year). Would be thrilled to see 'Mantis this year.

I agree. I hope whatever problems there are can be resolved. I'd love to see Ronin/Sky return as a serious team and get a title run. They can have some awesome matches with all the new influx of talent.

Definitely. Those are all excellent choices and my top picks. I think Christina Von Erie should also be brought back as well.


PWG also needs the return of mascots. I miss having mascots in PWG, they amuse me for some reason. PWG should bring back the Guerrilla Gorilla and The Bear. I think they should also try and get Greenman. Greenman has been making appearances at all sort of sporting events. It's time for Greenman to make his PWG debut!

agreed and especially dancers with BxB Hulk, its LA, can't be that hard to find dancers for BxB Hulk in LA plus bring in Ryo Saito, Taku Iwasa, Akira Tozawa, Cyber Kong, and Naoki Tanishaki plus bring back Genki Horiguchi and Stalker Ichikawa, especially against Kikutaro, it might have happened plenty of times in Japan but it never has happened in a America

and to suggest one more guy, hopefully PWG can bring this guy back whenever he's available from NJPW, similar to my Giant Bernard suggestion, but bring back Prince Devitt

I'd love to see Apollo 55 (Prince Devitt/Ryusuke Taguchi) brought in to face a pair of teams for a future ASW or next year's DDT4. They're an awesome babyface combo. I think it would kill seeing them against Omega/Taylor.

A lot of the guys named on here would be cool I would say bringing in Takuya Sugi fulltime would be awesome.More than anyone else named I would like to see Super Dragon return in good physical shape.PWG just isn't the same without Dragon imo.

People need to be realistic about the chances of a Super Dragon return. I just can't see it happening, especially with the state he was in before his last injury. I miss the guy too, but who can blame him for wanting to stay in a quiet retirement, not getting the shit kicked out of him any more. The guy wrestled an incredibly physical style for 11 years, and with some of his injuries, it's amazing he held out that long.

Plus, even if he did get back in shape and make a return, would he even be able to move in the ring any more? You can see just how much his moveset and style changed over the years due to his injuries, so he likely couldn't do much of the stuff that made him famous. (I miss the phoenix splash and the UFO kick)

His last PWG show, DDT4 2008 night 2, was PWG's 90th show, so there are plenty of PWG shows that he can be seen on, not to mention CZW, IWA-MS, RevPro(if you can get it) or any of the other promotions he worked for if you want to see Super Dragon.
