Indeed, the tag title match was one of the top 3 PWG matches of the year and the final was pretty close to that.

I have to agree!!! Someone said it was DDT status.

Omega's matches were great. I'm glad he won. I was going for Lost as well though. He was my first pick. But I started to change up from the beginning after the many different wins I didn't see coming.

Hands down my favorite PWG event!!!! ^_^

I also like how Omega and Generico have a common enemy now as in the Young bucks. But what about Chuck? What will he think of all that??? OoOOooo the story just got better.

Can't wait to get this on DVD. Thanks to everyone that participated in the results as well. I hope to do live results from my iTouch to Twitter in Jan for the WrestleReunion show and here's hoping that Omega is still champ by then.

He should be; there are no shows until WR4. PWG is done for '09.
Amazing amazing show. As usual, Night 2 completely blows away Night 1. Every match was great. Literally. Congrats to Kenny Omega.
And major congrats to Brandon Gatson, who had a breakout weekend. He not only hung in there with the TNA-ROH guys but took it to their level and looked equally good. I think he impressed the hell out of everyone this weekend.

Easily the loudest night of BOLA yet. Say what you will about Reseda, but the size of the place makes for a very intimate and energized atmosphere. Sure, it probably breaks an insane amount of fire and safety codes, but whatever. Every single match had the crowd in the palm of it's hand. The tournament matches ranged from pretty good to flat-out amazing. Indulge the nerdy star ratings...

Joey Ryan vs. Brian Kendrick- ***1/4
Scott Lost vs. Kenny Omega- ***1/2
Brandon Gatson vs. Alex Shelley- ***3/4
Roderick Strong vs. Human Tornado- ***1/4
Colt Cabana/LTP/Johnny Goodtime vs. Austin Aries/The Cutlers- **1/2
Joey Ryan vs. Kenny Omega- ***3/4
Roderick Strong vs. Brandon Gatson- ***1/2
The Young Bucks vs. El Steenerico- ****1/2
Kenny Omega vs. Roderick Strong- ****1/2

So not only did all of the tournament matches 100% deliver, there was an AMAZING Tag Team Title Match and an entertaining 6-man tag. What makes it even better is they didn't have to have an overly long losers tag match, and drag the momentum of the show down to give the guys in the finals rest. The Tag Title match was phenomal, and the Finals were just as good.

So in addition to being the loudest night of BOLA, it's also the most consistent and finished with two of the best in PWG history, let alone BOLA history. They absolute MADE two new stars in Omega (Already a big deal and over, before, he's significantly higher up after this weekend) and it goes without saying that Gatson put on the performances of a lifetime. The crowd could've easily turned on him after beating Shelley, who is a much bigger star, and a much bigger part of PWG up to this point. It could've been "too much too soon" but Gatson won in the perfect fashion with an innovative counter into a roll up. And that Space Flying Tiger Drop where his opponent moved and Gatson landed on his FEET... that was pretty damn impressive.

The aftermath of the finals was amazingly done, as well. Omega wearing a Young Bucks T-Shirt on night 1, Knox being the ref (Though that's a given in a Main Event PWG match) and Cabana on commentary. It was a lot of subtle things so when the moment happened and the Bucks attacked Omega along with Kendrick, that Generico ran out to save Omega, and then Omega questioned why Generico was really out there, Colt could come out to Generico's aid and explain to Omega what really happened. I really wanted Strong to win. I wasn't happy at all that he lost, but after that angle to close out the show, I can see why Omega won, and it was the right choice. I'm stoked for what's next. Less big-name indy talent? No problem for PWG. Great fucking show.

Wow, a ton of unanswered questions come out of this weekend. I'm a Lost man myself, but Omega winning...the love of a live crowd doesn't lie, and I fully expect Omega to be an awesome champion. Hope they give him some awesome feuds.

If the end of Night 2 indicates the Bucks being lackeys to Kendrick, that would be tremendous.

Guess we're getting Bucks/Kendrick vs. Cabana/Generico/Omega at the January show. Not too shabby. Though I'd love it turned into a crazy 10-Man with Bucks/Kendrick vs. Cabana/Generico/Omega/Steen/Tornado. Rounds out all of Generico's friends into 1 team.

My biggest question is where does this leave Chuck Taylor? Does he come back next year with a new partner or looking for revenge on Omega for "ditching" him? An Omega/Taylor feud down the line could be AWESOME.

Shows sound incredible, but of course that was expected. Can't wait to watch 'em.

Oh man, I'll eagerly be anticipating this on DVD up in Canada. Congrats to my fellow countryman. Now just take the distinguished competitions title and we can all celebrate your independent dominance.

Whoo. Sounds like an excellent show. Can't wait to see Gatson's performance. Sounds awesome. Kendrick sounded like a big part too. Love that.

Last night was so sick... amazing! Here is some interesting things that happened last night.

- Joey Ryan bought Brian Kendrick Mickey Mouse ears from the happiest place on earth Disneyland!

- I forget which match it was but referee Patrick Hernandez gets frustrated and tells them to "Start fighting and stop being a bunch of pussies!" Hahaha!

- LTP was way over with the crowd in the Six Man tag. LTP even pulls out the Carlton dance from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air which leaves Colt Cabana dumbfounded.

- I think the biggest pop of the night was probably Brandon Gatson getting the huge win over Alex Shelley. He definitely impressed the shit out of me.

- The tag team match was insane with some very cool spots, and weird ones. Kevin Steen T-bags Matt Jackson, licks his ear, and makes him rub his chest. The Young Bucks win by hitting Steen with 1,000 Superkicks (at least that's what it seemed like to me) leaving Kevin Steen with a bloody nose.

- Kenny Omega beats Roderick Strong in the finals. Post match speech, Omega said Strong is a way better wrestler than he will ever be. He said the primary reason he came to the US is because he wanted to wrestle for PWG otherwise he'd be wrestling in Japan. He puts over the Young Bucks, they come out to celebrate with Omega... and they attack him along with Brian Kendrick. El Generico for the save. Omega says the beef between Generico, Cabana, and Knox is over because they have a common enemy now the Young Bucks and Kendrick.

Is anyone else as confused by this as I am? They speant the whole year building up Scott Lost and yet he didn't even make it to the semis. Omega was part of a tag team all year and he won the whole damn thing! *sigh* Whatever.

I wonder what Chuck's gonna do now. His tag team partner is world champ. I predict he'll turn his back on Omega and either find a new partner or team up with Kendrik and The Young Bucks. We're gonna have to wait for next year to find out I guess.

On the bright side, it's all great fuel for a Lost/Omega feud down the line.

That's how I felt, especially believeed that Omega was gonna be a PWG Tag champ before winning the big one.

What a show this was...

Started about the same time as yesterday. Excal talks about the tournament and matches for tonight.

Match 1: Brian Kendrick vs. Joey Ryan
- Joey is so beloved. Before the match he tell Kendrick that to prepared to fight such an angry man as Kendrick he spent the day at Disneyland since it is the happiest place on Earth. He even got Kendrick an embroidered set of Mickey ears. The hat is put on Kendrick who attacks. Big battle with a bigger upset as Joey pinned Kendrick after 2 superkicks. ***1/4

Match 2: Scott Lost vs. Kenny Omega
- Scott Lost indeed, Omega killed him by countering the corner stomp into Croyt's Wrath. ***1/2

Match 3: Brandon Gatson vs. Alex Shelley
- Apparently PWG was being held in Upset City today as Gatson ducked a Shelley Superkick and caught him with a jackknife pin. ***

Match 4: Roderick Strong vs. Human Tornado
- Tornado got turned white and blue from the beating Strong gave him. Sick Kick finish. **3/4

Intermission Pt. 1

Match 5: Aries & Cutlers vs. Cabana, LTP & Goodtime
- Another awesome 6 man from PWG. LTP pins a Cutler with his wacky tombstone. ***3/4

Match 6: Kenny Omega vs. Joey Ryan
- For a second there I thought my man Omega was going to lose, silly me. Croyt's Wrath does it again. ***3/4

Match 7: Roderick Strong vs. Brandon Gatson
- Another fine contest. I thought Gatson had the win late with the jackknife but it was not to be, Tiger Bomb/Sick Kick/Over. ***1/4

Match 8: Steenerico vs. Young Bucks (c)
- Ok this ruled. This is up there with anything PWG has done all year. Bucks retain after hitting Steen with around a million superkicks, smashed his nose with one. ****3/4

Intermission Pt. 2

Match 9: For PWG World Title & BOLA Crown: Kenny Omega vs. Roderick Strong
- Almost as good as the last match but not quiet. Crowd was 50-50 for this, one row by the announce table were the Strong cheerleaders. Fighting all around the hall. But yet again Roddy fell on his face before the finish. Omega hits a big stalling Croyt's Wrath to win the belt. HOORAY!!!!!! ****1/2

Omega gets the mic and asks Roddy for a handshake, he gets it. He talks about PWG being the only reason he doesn't stay in Japan. He talks about guys like Generico, Cabana & The Bucks who keep wrestling fun. He sees the Bucks looking through the curtain and asks them the join him being the other champs and all. Nick has an Omega shirt on. Kenny thanks everyone and THEN THE BUCKS STRIKE HIM FROM BEHIND & KENDRICK RUNS OUT AND JOINS IN! But it's Cabana from the announce table and Generico & Knox from the back. To make the save. Omega gets back to his feet and wants to know what the hell Generico is doing in Reseda, it's his city. But without any allies(well he does have Chuck) he asks for there help. Omega, Knox and Generico shake hands and Colt gets a high five. Looks like we got some faction warfare ahead as the show ends.

A little bit. Lost should have gotten deeper for sure.

Omega winning makes a ton of sense. He's been the most over guy in PWG for months.

That was my thoughts. I don't mind Kenny Omega winning the whole thing. I have a problem with Scott Lost not even getting to the semis. I would've liked Lost and Ryan switch places, and then I can handle Omega eliminating Lost on his way to the win a lot more.
