BOLA 2014

Postby hey333 » Fri May 09, 2014 5:11 am

Is it too early to discuss? I don't know but I want to anyways. So give or take we're about 4 months away from the 2014 (and happens to be the 10th) Battle of Los Angeles. So question is who should be in it this year? Also another question I have on my mind is since its the 10th anniversary of BOLA, should PWG go back to an old formula and run it as 24 competitors over a 3 night period?

Anyways here's my personal list of competitors I'd like to see in BOLA this year:

1. Candice LaRae
2. Chris Hero
3. Joey Ryan
4. Trevor Lee
5. Andrew Everett
6. Cedric Alexander
7. Kevin Steen
8. Ricochet
9. AR Fox
10. Rich Swann
11. Kyle O'Reilly
12. Roderick Strong
13. Tomasso Ciampa
14. Tony Nese
15. Christopher Daniels
16. Johnny Gargano

If they added another 8 competitors:
17. Brian Cage
18. Willie Mack
19. B-Boy
20. Nick Jackson
21. Matt Jackson
22. Trent?
23. Chuck Taylor
24. ACH

I doubt a 3-day BOLA will ever happen again, but I'd still love to see it. As I said on here before-12 first round matches for Day 1, 6 quarter-finals plus 3 non-tourney matches featuring Day 1 losers/others for Day 2, and the 3 semi-finals and the three-way elimination final plus 5 non-tourney matches featuring Day 1 and 2 losers/others for Day 3. It'll never happen though-too much money, and the fans would be absolutely dead by the time Day 3 rolled around anyway. For lineup, I guess I'd go Cole, ACH, Fox, Cage, Ciampa, Elgin, Gargano, Hero, LeRae, Mack, Nese, O'Reilly, Ricochet, Steen, Strong, Swann, Taylor, Trent?, Everett, Alexander, Lee, and a debuting Gulak, Busick, and Nation.

Joey Ryan over ACH and Tony Nese over Trent ????? Don't see the logic in that . Also a 3 day show would be tough for alot of fans I love pwg but even a the 2 day BOLA and 2 day All Star weekend kills me . Thats just me though

I'd like to see Elgin win, after being the runner-up two years running. Doubt it'll happen though.

I've been thinking about BOLA recently. It's probably my favourite show(s) of the year :D

My line-up would be...

1) Kevin Steen
2) Roderick Strong
3) Chris Hero
4) Johnny Gargano
5) Michael Elgin
6) Brian Cage
7) Ricochet
8) Rich Swann
9) AR Fox
10) ACH
11) Andrew Everett
12) Cedric Alexander
13) Trevor Lee
14) Tommaso Ciampa
15) Trent?
16) Chuck Taylor

I wouldn't be overly interested in Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly compete in the tournament, seen as they've won the last two editions. A special attraction tag match, featuring both, would be cool though.

I'd love to see returning veterans, like Christopher Daniels and Chris Sabin, and newcomers, like Uhaa Nation and Drew Gulak, feature too.

My favourite would be Michael Elgin. Having been runner-up the last two years, it would make sense for him strike third time lucky.

I'd mark out if Ricochet were to win. He deserves a big PWG moment.

Ricochet was my pick to win last year... before the news that he wouldn't be in the tournament and O'Reilly stealing the show every time.

Personally i do hope it is 24 participantsand 3 nights this year just because its 10th anniversary of BOLA this year and PWG has enough guys to fill in 24 guys for 3 nights at this point, my hopes

1. Michael Elgin
2. Tomasso Ciampa
3. ACH
4. Rich Swann
5. Brian Cage
6. Kevin Steen
7. Roderick Strong
8. Ricochet
9. Johnny Gargano
10. Adam Cole
11. Kyle O'Reilly
12. Andrew Everett
13. Trevor Lee
14. Chris Hero
15. Akira Tozawa
16. Kenny Omega

And if they do go 24 people instead

17. Trent?
18. Jay Lethal
19. Uhaa Nation
20. Cedric Alexander
21. Willie Mack
22. Peter Avalon
23. Drew Gulak
24. Chuck Taylor

Though who knows, there might be a chance some of these guys could end up going to the WWE before BOLA even happens as well. Also, I would like to see whoever is PWG champion by BOLA to actually defend the PWG title while competing in the tournament, similar the tag titles for DDT4.

Unfortunately, from what I've been hearing, Steen may not be around by the time BOLA comes around. It would be a shame if Steen leaves PWG without winning one of the major tournaments.

There have been rumors that the WWE is prepared to offer Steen a contract as soon as his ROH deal is up. Which I believe is just a month or two away.

I could've sworn Meltzer or some other actually occasionally accurate source said it. I've seen it all over various twitter accounts as well. It seems fairly legit to me.

Love me some BOLA predictions, hopefully its a little jacked up because its the 10th one

1. ACH
2. Trevor Lee
3. Andrew Everett
4. Michael Elgin
5. Willie Mack
6. Cedric Alexander
7. Trent Baretta
8. Chuck Taylor
9. Johnny Gargano
10. Rich Swann
11. AR Fox
12. Roderick Strong
13. Tommaso Ciampa
14. Chris Hero
15. JT Dunn
16. Biff Busick
--- I don't see Adam Cole being in it, and I also expect Kyle O'Reilly to be the PWG World Champion when it comes around, so I see him challenging whoever wins Bola, a couple debuts would be a nice touch...

I haven't ever been impressed with anything Donst's done. He had a really bland and uninteresting match with Alex Shelley for AIW recently. That's tough to do. Guy's just boring.

On top of that I feel like he is really lazy in the ring, and the PWG fans will re recognise that immediatly.

All I know is I can't wait to hop back on a plane from Cleveland to LA for this weekend. Last years was legit the best wrestling shows I've ever attended.

Also I gotta disagree on the Donst hate. Having talked to him and seen him live so many times in the ring, lazy is the last word I'd use. Guy has plenty enough talent to hang with anyone in PWG
