World's Oldest Pro Wrestler Passes Away, Aged 101

The Wrestling Observer has reported the passing of Abe Coleman, who at the age of 101 is believed to be the oldest known professional wrestler in the world. He passed away early morning on March 28 in a nursing home in Queens, New York.

Coleman was born Abe Kelmer on September 20, 1905 in Zychlin, Poland. He moved to the United States in 1923, by way of Canada, in an effort to avoid the fate of so many of his family members who parished during the Holocaust. Abe was introduced to wrestling in 1929. He related the story of his beginnings to a Queens Chronicle reporter during his 90th birthday:
