I just finished watching the first disc of the WWF/E Raw Anniversary DVD and they showed in its entirety the final match in the tourny for the European Championship... sure the title was a joke... but the Owen Hart vs. Brittish Bulldog for the title was a AWESOME and MUCH overlooked match in the history of the federation. I'd suggest if you watch this DVD, which is VERY VERY good by the way... watch this match and let me know what you think. I didn't even know it was on RAW... but it had to be one of the top 5 matches of 1997.

I had this in my hand, but decided to get the Ladder Match dvd along with my Rey Mysterio dvd.

Ladder Match is pretty good.... The Rey DVD is just matches, no documentary, with most being found on other DVDs... I'd highly recommend the Raw Anniversary DVD... of course, after you purchase the BOLA 07 DVDs, which have thankfully gotten me through these tedious, boring days with the family.

I actually remember that match between Owen and Davey Boy. I remember reading Raw magazine and getting excited that they were going to have a new title. The magazine hyped that the impending tournament would have wrestlers from all over the world. But of course it was just the simple roster that they had at the time.

I also remember on that episode Paul E. called in and talked to Vince and hyped Barley Legal. Before Paul hung up he asked in a creepy voice to plug his ppv again. Vince didn't.

It's a forgotten match since it was on a taped Raw and that was the time when they were seriously losing ground to WCW. Too bad. One of my favorites from 1997. Although I wonder why it took them six months to book the first European title match.

what other matches are on the dvd?
i am hoping they have a decent amount of matches from the early years. the stand outs from those times would be:
flair v. mr. perfect
1-2-3 Kid v. Bret Hart
shawn michaels v. marty janettey
i also hope they have the match between shawn michaels and shelton from the gold rush tournament.

I find shopping there to be an overall annoying experience. Plus the one nearest to me smells like an overpopulated country. I usually avoid it, unless something like this RAW Bonus Disc pops up.

that dvd sounds great! most of the stuff i want to see on there is on there. as far as Bret Speaks His Mind March 17, 1997; is that when he is in the wheelchair and when he gets out of the wheelchair Shawn Michaels superkicks him? Then the Hart Foundation comes out of the back trying to get Shawn?

I think it is when he flips out and starts talking about how all the attitude era people are bad influences.

Bret Hart: Just like the Wu-Tang Clan, he's for the kids.

i agree. i also try to avoid the walmart like the plague.

but like TigerDriver98, unless there is a bonus disk, as was the case with the Hulk Hogan set, i will go to one, get that and leave

I just wanted to add another forgotten match. Owen Hart vs Steve Blackman from Dec of 99 ppv Rock Bottom. Owen really pulled out a good match with Steve. Probably Blackman's best match. With Blackman's match against Shane at SS 2000 being his second best.

I sort of liked the Owen/Blackman feud. I was always amused when Owen would put the Dragon Sleeper on Steve. Owen would always hit Steve in the stomach for extra punishment. And on one episode of Raw I think the Blue Blazer had Blackman in the Dragon Sleeper and Owen just casually turned around and kicked Steve in the testicles for good measure and I remember laughing at Blackman's entire body just going motionless.
