The movie finally has a release date. It will debut in LA/New York on December 19, then wider release later on.

I am so mad I work nights cause I have to miss the screening of The Wrestler on Nov 6th. It is being shown during the AFI Film Fest at the Grauman Chinese Theater. I had a chance to go see it but won't be able to. I can't wait to see that movie!!

I know- I was (am) excited to see this, and while buying tickets for "Until The Light Takes Us" (documentary on the early Norwegian black metal scene) I saw that The Wrestler was playing @ Grauman's, only it was already sold out. Probably not even wrestling fans......

So far the film has received nothing but good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes(31), which is quiet an accompishment. This is really going to be something epic.

Glad to hear that Marissa Tomei (super hot) and Mickey rourke both received Golden Globe nods for their respective roles in the film. That's a good indicator for the Oscars. If they are also nominated by the SAG awards then the Oscar statuette isn't too far off.

I finally saw the movie today when it first opened at the Landmark. The Wrestler is an amazing movie and a great wrestling movie. The performances were just awesome. Mickey Rourke should get nominated for an award for that performance. Marisa Tomei was great too, she looked pretty damn good naked. Saw lots of PWG wrestlers in there like Necro, Nigel, Claudio, Chuck Taylor I believe among others. The Necro/Ram fight was amazing to watch, they even took you backstage to what happens after a brutal match that had people cringing at the sights. I definitely recommend the movie for us wrestling fans, but also people who enjoy great movies that stand out based on the content and not all the CGI stunts used today.

Yeah... too bad his Golden Globe nomination from last week doesn't count.

By award I meant an Oscar award nomination. Mickey did get nominated for a SAG Best Actor award so that is a very positive sign!!!!
