I haven't watched WWE in forever, but this was pretty entertaining.

Seriously, in the last so many years of watching Raw, 3 things stick out in my mind as great memories.

1. Punk cashing in the Money in the Bank for his first major title win.
2. The birth of Nexus.
3. Punk's promo tonight.

Not necessarily in order of best, just longest ago.

so apparently WWE had taped Raw after CM Punk did his promo and its mentioned on the WWE website that Punk got "suspended", here's what happened, which started and ended the Raw taping last night

Spoiler: show
-At the start of the show they had a graphic announcing that Rey Mysterio, Alberto Del Rio, and R Truth will be in a Number One Contender Match for the WWE Title at Money In the Bank. They also announced Alex Riley versus Miz.

John Cena comes out for a promo and he mentions that CM Punk has been stripped of his right to challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship in Chicago. He mentions that is why they are going to do the Triple Threat Match to determine a new number one contender. He also says that they are going to treat things as if CM Punk never existed in WWE.

Cena says that he is not happy with the decision and he believes that Punk was saying what he believes in, but he does not agree with Punk. He does agree with Punk’s right to say what he did. Cena says that he wants answers from Vince McMahon and he wants those answers tonight.

John Cena says that he wants to face CM Punk at Money in the Bank

-John Cena's music played but he didn't come out. It stopped and out came Mr. McMahon to a decent reaction. He said that the C.M. Punk suspension has gotten out of hand and the camera man fixed his tie. He said Punk deserved to be suspended for what he said. He said this was about what was right for the fans. McMahon said he really suspended Punk because he wanted limo service and wanted to be on DVDs and such and he wasn't worthy. He then said he fired Punk because he deserved it and he is a punk.

Cena came out to a big reaction even in his third appearance tonight. He asked Vince if that was it? He accused Vince of kicking Punk to the curb and Vince said Punk kicked himself to the curb. Cena said Vince believes in free speech and Vince confirmed it. Cena then made fun of Vince's walk and said that Vince took everyone down because he's a fighter. He wondered why Vince wasn't a fighter now and said he wants to fight Punk. He said if Vince doesn't feel like fighting, he should hang it up.

Vince said he really suspended Punk because be doesn't want to take a chance on Cena. He doesn't want to risk Cena losing to Punk and losing the title and taking it to another organization. He said he will not be embarrassed. Vince said he's afraid of Cena not beating Punk. Cena said he wanted this match regardless of Punk's status. Cena said if he was a fan, this sounds like the match of the year to him. He asked if Vince would suspend him for saying something Vince didn't like.

Vince told Cena not to piss him off. He said not to be Hogan or any of the guys before him. Vince said he doesn't believe Cena can beat him. Cena said to take a chance and give the people what they want. Vince said he doesn't give a damn what the people want, it's his company and he does what is right for them.

Cena said he gets it. He then said it's not what he signed up for. He said he busts his ass for Vince and he believes the belt stands for something. He said Vince is worried that the belt is meaningless, but by sending Punk away he made it meaningless. Cena handed the belt to Vince and walked out. Vince stopped him and followed him up the ramp. He stood face to face with Cena on the ramp and said Punk is reinstated and he has the match.

Vince said that if Punk walks out of Chicago with the title, he is firing Cena.

Absolutely wild and delivered with conviction. That is a golden moment that takes you back to the good ol' days of the Attitude era. It was very refreshing. Punk deserves all the accolades as he is untouchable on the mic. Kudos to WWE for letting Punk go out there and do his thing.

Punk sold me on his program with Cena and now I want to check it out. I fully expect the heat in Chicago to be "nuclear"! It should surpass RVD/Cena from ONS. I hope I can still find a pub showing a WWE PPV.

Of course this angle has my imagination running wild. Seeing footage on Raw of Punk defending the WWE title in New Japan or ROH would certainly be neat.

Does anyone remember Diesel was on his way out to WCW and was threatening to take the WWF title to places it had never been before? I think that was the last time this threat was made. But this one is by far superior.

Forgot to mention, you know this was a special promo when you set the internet ablaze. To get smarks wondering whether this is a shoot or not in 2011 is something to tip your hat off to.

Punk continues to be that shining beacon amongst the dreck of WWE programming. Punk's delivery and fervor is just outstanding and a breath of fresh air amongst the scripted and corny usual jazz. Punk's mic work takes me back to the good ol' Attitude days.

Lots of great moments during the contract signing between Punk and Vince. I loved the mention of WWE Ice Cream bars, the fans chanting Colt Cabana, and Punk mocking Vince with "What a maneuver!" Lots of good stuff there. It was cool seeing Punk deconstruct Cena. The way Cena dresses. The way Cena acts edgy and anti-establishment when he is the establishment. I do not mean to be too smarky but Cena was the only weak link in the last segment. They really sold me on the main event.

Got to give Vince credit for letting Punk go all out with this and taking that verbal lashing in public.

This is PUNK at raw form. I loved it as well. This quote however is my favorite of all.

"I will kick you in the balls, and you will smile at me and like it." - CM Punk

Punk needs not a push but a sky rocket into the hall of fame already. This will never be forgotten.

I am actually looking forward to the PPV. It has been awhile since I felt that way. It looks like a three match show but whatever. The main event has managed to hold on to my interest for a few weeks.

CM Punk also did an interview with GQ. Check it out!

Man, that was an awesome main event. It was cool seeing Punk soak in the cheers before Cena came down the aisle. That crowd was red hot. My heart was actually pounding during that match and I just loved all the reversal and close pin falls. Punk kicked out of two FUs! Colt Cabana was in the front row too! Just a fantastic main event and the ending was perfect. They have me hooked. I cannot wait to see where they go from here. It would be super cool to see Punk parading around with the title in ROH or New Japan.

Absolutely! The 23rd is not too far away. Plus, Summerslam is in LA. Perhaps this could blend in with an August show. We can dream!

This is why I love wrestling. The ppv was awesome. I havent been this excited about wrestling for a while. I also follow boxing and mma and none of them have been this good on quite some time. The ppv was money well spent and the angle is something reminiscent of the glory days of the 80s and 90s periods.
