Ronin punched a fan?

Postby evilj » Sat Feb 04, 2006 11:38 pm

So I heard a fan booed him, he threw water at him, guy threw his hat back, guy went to get his hat, and ronin punched, and the guy got kicked out?

I don't know if this is correct, but I thought this was supposed to be a show. And when super dragon or ronin gets in people's faces, it's not for real.

eh, i don't even care anymore. I was supposed to be at the show today, but my friends went and this is what happened.

When I talked to one of them, they said "it was a great memory" so they don't even care..

apparently he got kicked out for putting his hands on ronin, yet it was ronin who put his hands on him first..

Yeah it was a bit hard to tell from my viewpoint but Ronin was just giving the guy a hard time and I guess the guy crossed the line and tried getting a little too physical with Ronin who then slapped the guy and started punching him. It was great and truly is a memorable part of the night!

What happend was Ronin was playing heel and all that, and the guy threw his hat at him. The guy went to pick up his hat and Ronin kicked the hat away in a comedic way but the guy slapped Ronin with the hat and Ronin fought back. Ronin had every right to go after the guy.

i see, I heard ronin first threw water at him first, he did throw water at one of my other friend's last event. Unless the fan hit punched him first, I don't think he shoulda done anything.

evilj, this is Justin =)

I'll clear things up. I'm the friend of the fan who was punched by Ronin. Let's say my friend's name is Fred. Fred and I (along with the majority of PWG fans) dislike Ronin very much. But for some reason on that night, Fred decided to take his disgust for Ronin a level higher.

After Ronin's victory in the evening's first match, Fred loudly booed Ronin in his face. Ronin retorted by throwing water at Fred. Everybody was like "oooooh!", so Fred threw his hat at Ronin's feet. Ronin, the jerk that he is, kicked the hat away. He continued to stomp and pour water on it. Once he finished, Fred walked to retrieve his hat. Then, while Fred was walking back to his seat, RONIN PUNCHED FRED IN THE JAW... FROM BEHIND! The scuffle continued down on the ground. While Nemesis held Ronin back, Chris Hero ran from the merchandise stand to pick up Fred and escort him outside.

Me being the good friend that I am, I walked away from Alex Koslov's promo to check on Fred. I talked to Dino on the way out, and he said Fred is kicked out. I wasn't sure if that meant just for the night or banned indefinitely. He said the reason for the banning is because Fred laid his hands on a wrestler. But the truth is HE DIDN'T LAY HIS HANDS ON RONIN! RONIN LAID HIS HANDS FIRST and Fred just tried to protect himself.

In the end, the two of us left after watching just 1 match, and him with a SWOLLEN JAW.

Here's my take on it: Yes it's wrong of Fred to throw his hat, since that can easily be perceived as an attack. Yet it is APPALLING AND UNCLASSY of Ronin to lay stiff punches on an audience member... the very source of his financial income! If I had my way, I'd hear an apology not only from Ronin, but also from Dino for accusing Fred of laying his hands on a wrestler. Fred would be allowed to attend PWG shows, and we could all have ourselves a dandy slam-tastic time.

SoCalAndy... Fred said that he was just trying to get the water out of his hat, not to slap Ronin with it.

so you respond here but not to me on aim...

I believe mr. "fred" could easily have a cause of action against ronin for assault and/or battery with respondeat superior to pwg as ronin was acting under employment of pwg at the time of the incident, that is if he wishes.

That event is unlikely, and we could continue to attend pwg events if an apology was made.

this board has no edit function..

it's not even a question of being appalling and unclassy. It should not have happened period...whether fred or justin are upset about it or not.

A wrestler should never lay his hands on an audience member. And this was nowhere near out of self defense. Ronin was never in any danger.

All this happened literally right in front of me. And if memory serves my correct: Ronin threw some water on "Fred", Fred went up in his face and tried to be a tough guy, Ronin took his hat and threw it on the ground, Fred gets his hand on the hat and Ronin steps on it and kicks it back and pours the water on it. Fred picked the hat up and hit Ronin in the face with the hat, Ronin whips ass.

To be honest, it looked like a gradeschool fight after Ronin's first punch to the jaw. Fred was definitely an instagator here, and there's no way he was trying to get the water off the hat. Because the water bottle was also hit out of Ronin's hand (And I know this because I got some of the water on me). Anyone remember Roger Clemens throwing a friggin' bat at Mike Piazza after he got hit by a Clemens pitch? And after Roger goes "Well, I thought it was the ball and I was trying to throw it to first." Yeah, sure. You don't swing a hat, face level, to try and de-soak it. I'd say both are at fault, but more Ronin's as he's a professional and he's paid to act the part, not enforce it. Although...... every man has his breaking point. I'd get sick of the Hello Kitty stuff too.

So yeah, for anyone who cares, that's an unbias look at the event that took place.

I'm trying my best to remember a key moment in the incident as I had some of the water hit me. Ole and Matt are right in that "Fred" gets in Ronin's face and says something that results in Ronin splashing water on the guy. Some fo the water gets on me. I was too busy in shock to see how the hat got all the way to the other end of the gym, but it did and I was watching Ronin pour water on it. It is at this point that for some reason I cannot remember what happened before Ronin was all over Fred. In the end it doesn't really matter how the fight broke out. Yes Fred didn't fight back, but he didn't listen when Hero was telling him to "Stay down." I don't know why Fred didn't do that and I won't speculate on it. If you ask me, some sort of disciplinary action should be taken on Ronin, I agree, but Fred did have some responsibility because it seemed to me that he did something to provoke and tick off Ronin. But that's just how I view it.

I didn't see all the stuff with the hat, but to me it looked like Ronin only went to hit "Fred" after he knocked the water out of Ronin's hand.

I know it was very wrong of Ronin to go after the guy but I must admit it was pretty funny. It was the most excitement I have ever seen from Ronin. He has gone from wheelchairs to actual people. What's next?

Arent fans SUPPOSED to cheer at wrestling events? Shouldn't heels EXPECT to be bood? Why are PWG fans the only fans not allowed to do this? I really love PWG with a passion but they are fucking up. I am afraid they are going to get into a lot of trouble one day. It is only a matter of time if they continue this way. They need to think about what they are doing. PWG is growing and is really gaining popularity. They can only go up with the added exposure in FHM magazine. One lawsuit is all it takes to financially destroy this company. That is not fair to all us fans who love the product and want it to succeed.

Wise up guys. It is for your own good. It is for the good of your fans. Dont listen to a small few internet fans who think it is cool to get beat up by wrestlers. There are laws in the real world. PWG is not exempt from these laws. I want to be a PWG fan for many years to come.

And a audience member should never slap a wrestler. Ronin got slapped first, he defended himself in a heated moment. No point in trying to defend this "Fred" guy who shouldn't have been acting like a jackass to begin with. Anyone who thinks Ronin is at fault is a fucking idiot like "Fred".

It was just a big mess overall. Just cause you pay the money doesn't give you the right to become part of the show. You can say whatever you want but once it gets past words then all bets are off. "Fred" or whatever his name is should get banned for being an idiot.
