Mickey Rourke and Bruce Springsteen win Golden Globes for "T

Postby Lord Akiyama » Mon Jan 12, 2009 12:30 am

"The Wrestler" walked off with two Golden Globes on Sunday night, January 11. Mickey Rourke defeated favorite Sean Penn, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Frank Langella to win the Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama. Bruce Springsteen picked up Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for the film's song, which he wrote and performed. Marisa Tomei was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, but lost to Kate Winslet for her performance in "The Reader."

The Golden Globes are among the strongest of indicators as to who will not only be nominated, but who will win.

Supposedly at the SAG award pre-show, Mickey said he was going to Houston for Wrestlemania and called out Chris Jericho. Can they seriously be thinking of a match between the 2?

Mickey won best actor at the BAFTA awards...maybe he still has a great chance at an Oscar. I think its between him and Sean Penn.
