Dragon Gate 3/1 Results - CIMA returns!

Postby Lord Akiyama » Sun Mar 01, 2009 11:43 pm

6. Open the Twin Gate: Susumu Yokosuka, Gamma{W} (17:58 Skytwister Press) YAMATO, Cyber Kong{L}

Very busy night. CIMA has returned, and starting from Korakuen on Thursday he is back full time. He has aligned with GammaSuka for a unit called WARRIORS-5. Also joining them is KAGETORA, after he betrayed RH in the main event (stemming from some verbal abuse at the hands of Araken since his failed Brave Gate challenge, including after the opener). The 5th will be revealed in Kobe on 3/20. A whole slew of matches have been changed and made out of tonight.

Yoshino challenged CIMA to come after the Brave Gate. With their win today over the Triangle Gate champions, W-1 earned a title match, but a RH team also made a challenge, so there will be a 3 Way match for the titles. Finally, the reunited Maraha-Isappa team from RH will be the first Twin challengers. All at Sumo Hall. Korakuen on Thursday has also been drastically altered.

Head over to DGUSA and look at the the player bios. Jae has generally explained how things came out in one way or another.

But here's how some of the things I'm more than willing to rundown:

- El Dorado's done and KAGETORA at the beginning of the year decided to make the jump to DG. He's supposedly under the freelancer deal Gamma and Tanisaki have, but has been appearing on every show since Battle of Tokyo. He first aligned with Real Hazard, but as mentioned above, the verbal abuse he's been getting from Arai resulted in him betraying the group and joining CIMA's new unit.

- Gamma was kicked out of Real Hazard in favor of a new direction and movement led by YAMATO. Since getting ousted, Gamma started doing the whole respect deal where he shook hands with opponents. RH tried to run him out of DG for good by throwing in the stipulation in that if he and Susumu didn't win the tag titles he was gone. There was belief that this would be Gamma's final run with the promotion since it seemed he was lost in the shuffle. This obviously didn't happen as he and Susumu won and joined up with CIMA, who appears to believe that Gamma has indeed turned a new leaf as the rivals are now allies.

- Saito was hinting at forming his own unit since Typhoon dissolved and was trying to recruit BxB Hulk away. For reasons yet to be explained, he instead betrayed Susumu and joined up with Real Hazard and thereby reunited with Genki.

- Mori and Kong have engaged in a feud, which will come to a close at Sumo Hall with the Hair vs. Mask match. Kong loses, he loses the mask. Mori loses, he loses his hair.

- Mochi has been critical of Iwasa, saying that he has not proven himself as an individual. Iwasa is determined to showcase himself capable of individual success despite being part of Shingo's unit KAMIKAZE.

- Shingo and Doi have stepped up into leadership roles since CIMA had to go out last year with injury. Even though CIMA has now returned full-time, Shingo and Doi are still expected to remain as the top guys at the present moment.

Oh, I forgot to mention.

After Typhoon dissolved, PAC was picked up by WORLD-1 to be their resident gaijin.

Am really happy with the way DG is at the moment to be honest. Saitos turn i think is long overdue, while his teaming with Yokosuka was good, there seemed to be somthing not geling between them IMO.
Great to see they landed on their feet, after life without CIMA too.
Wonder who the 5th member will be?? All for a Iwasa push too, he made a trip to lil ol NZ and i got to see him live, where he impressed the hell out of me.
