Ryan Taylor is a nice addition. I have attended lots of EWF shows and he is an outstanding wrestler. It's good to see EWF bred talent like him and Brandon Gatson getting their respective shots in PWG. On a random note, this is my first time posting on the boards since August of last year. I forgot my password and was too lazy to fix it.

Any other EWF guys worth bringing in? I've seen a few Liger Rivera matches and comp videos recently, and he looks like he'd make a good addition to the local fliers debuted so far. Plus the guy looks to be about LTP's height, and that's awesome.

Anyone who's seen him live, what do you think?

Earlier today we received word of two cancellations for the 2009 Battle of Los Angeles. First, Charles Mercury will not be able to compete in his recently announced non-tournament bout due to a personal matter. Second, we were notified by TNA Management that Chris Sabin has been injured, and will be unable to compete in the 2009 Battle of Los Angeles. TNA Management stated that Sabin "aggravated a neck injury at our TV tapings and the doctor is recommending that he take a couple of weeks (and maybe longer) off. He had first suffered the injury at our previous tapings and tweaked it at the tapings this week." We at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla wish Chris Sabin a speedy and full recovery.

With word of Sabin's injury coming little more than 24 hours prior to the 2009 Battle of Los Angeles, finding a suitable replacement was not an easy task. However, due to his performance in recent months, especially in the 2009 Battle of Los Angeles Qualifier at Against The Grain, Johnny Goodtime will now step in to the D Block and take on Roderick Strong in the opening round of the tournament. This will be Johnny Goodtime's first Battle of Los Angeles tournament appearance.

With Charles Mercury's absence and Johnny Goodtime taking part in 2009 Battle of Los Angeles, Brandon and Dustin Cutler will now take on Malachi "CK" Jackson and Ryan Taylor in a non-tournament tag team contest on Night One.

We would like to apologize for the timing of these changes to the 2009 Battle of Los Angeles, and hope that our fans can understand that our primary concern is for the health and safety of our locker room.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's 2009 Battle of Los Angeles - Night One takes place Friday, November 20, 2009, at 8:00 PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's 2009 Battle of Los Angeles - Night Two takes place Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 8:00 PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. Front Row tickets are $30 per night, and General Admission tickets are $25 per night. Front Row and General Admission Two-Night Passes may be purchased for only $50 (Front Row) and $40 (General Admission). American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. Video recording devices are not permitted. Card subject to change.

Sucks about Sabin, but this doesn't strike me as much of a setback. Goodtime/Roddy is a huge mismatch, and I think Night One will profit from having one of those... gives the card a little more stylistic variety. Also, Goodtime will fit in nicely to the eight-man spotfest. Nothing wrong with giving another local the rub in that, as that's a match that always reaches a lot of eyeballs. Good audible by the PWG brass here.

Holy shit. For me as a fan, this is a bittersweet moment. Sucks about Mercury and especially Sabin, as yet again PWG books Strong/Sabin and it doesn't happen. Hopefully in 2010.

On the other hand, I've become a Johnny Goodtime fan, and this is HUGE match for the guy. I think this may end up being the sleeper of the night.

To answer your question, Meltman, Liger is pretty entertaining, but I'm not sure how he would fit in PWG. The EWF tag team champions Jeremy Jaeger and Roger Ruiz could have some fun tag matches in PWG. Maybe Chris Kadillak should get a shot sometime in the future.

I'm kinda happy that Goodtime is in the tournament. I am not happy over the circumstances around it, and wish Sabin well and a speedy recovery, I am happy Goodtime will be there. He entertains me and I can't see him on TV every week, no knock against Sabin and Shelly. Since coming to PWG, one of my favorite things has been the absolutely amazing local talent in the area. I hope we get surprised and he advances

Yeah Johnny Goodtime is really awesome. He bumps like a madman too. I'm always shockingly impressed with the young local guys PWG brings in. They always seem to be exciting and pretty solid in the ring but also have pretty solid personalities, something that can be lacking when other companies use a few locals (in the pre-show or opening matches). PWG just has an eye for talent I guess or southern California just pumps out great wrestlers. I think Strong will make Goodtime look like a star. Even if its just because he beats the living hell out of him. Can't wait to find out who wins and then watch it on DVD. One day I'll have to take a trip from Canada to PWG.

this weekend looks epic. Ive been following PWG for awhile now to keep up w/ the happs, but being a midwest guy, ive never seen em live and the only dvds I have are Sells Out. But if this card delivers, like i understand most have this year(and they offer the pre-order deal w/ the BOLA shirts like last year), I may be buying my first PWG shows on dvd
