obligatory BOLA 2011 thread

Postby El Asian » Fri Jun 17, 2011 11:04 am

since its coming soon, either in late August around Memorial Day weekend or in November where its the final show of the year but yeah, some things you will to see happen for BOLA, my picks:

-return of Kenny Omega and Akira Tozawa (obviously)
-some surprise debuts (holding out for Daisuke Sekimoto, Kota Ibushi, maybe Sean Waltman, and some others)
-Young Bucks not participating in the BOLA tournament itself
-some surprise returns (not Super Dragon though, I think its time to give up seeing him return)

of course, expect others there like Roderick Strong, El Generico, Chuck Taylor, Ricochet, Austin Aries, Brandon Gatson, hopefully Pac, Low Ki, Joey Ryan, and other usual while other to make their BOLA debut like Eddie Edwards, Kenny King, and Willie Mack

1. Claudio
2. Hero
3. Steen
4. Low Ki
5. Davey
6. Eddie E.
7. Mack
8. PAC
9. Strong
10. Shelley
11. Generico
12. Ricochet
13. Chuck Taylor
14. Joey Ryan
15. Scorpio Sky
16. Tozawa/K. King/Ryan Taylor/Brian-Cage Taylor/Insert Young Buck Here/Cabana/etc.

The first fifteen I'm pretty sure on. The last spot is pretty much up in the air to me, unless this year's BOLA features more outside talent like Johnny Gargano, Incoherence, Cole and o' Reily, etc. So yeah, lots of indy talent abound to make this year's tournament awesome as usual.

We're still owed Ibushi, so he's one of my dream international picks.

If Dragon Gate can spare some guys aside from PAC, I'd like to see them send Naoki Tanizaki, BxB Hulk, Taku Iwasa, or Masaaki Mochizuki. Wouldn't mind a return of KAGETORA either.

Would be lots of fun if we can get Magnum TOKYO.

I'm with you on Masaaki Mochizuki for BOLA Tozawa aswell and it's been a fantasy of mine for years Ultramantis Black for BOLA.

The more I think about it mabey they could bring in Sean Waltman, he has really cleaned up his act reicently and he had that match with generico in chikara a couple months ago so he can still go.

I think Waltman would be fun. Maybe he could do a different gimmick each night.

although its most likely gonna be 2 nights and 16 people, part of me hopes it goes back to the 24 people and 3 nights instead but I'm not really expecting that

also, I want PWG to bring back the special menus and intros and group photos with all the participants together, something that was missing last year but has been mostly a tradition for BOLA except for last year's

I know that's really just wishful but ironically enough, Punk would be the most likely to appear out of the 3 in bold, depending what happens with Punk after July 17 (his contract with the WWE would end and apparently, Punk has not re-signed yet) as I really won't expect Bosh to ever return and Nigel is way too much in poor health to return to anywhere in wrestling

if not Tozawa, definitely those guys would be great to represent DG as I always wanted BOLA to have guys from other international feds in Japan and even Mexico having guys represented in addition to the random indy debuts getting a shot for BOLA

also, is Magnum Tokyo still wrestling at all? I haven't heard much of him since HUSTLE went under

If his 90 days are up, would any one be interested in Chavo Guerrero being brought in?

I don't know if the 90 days matters if it's not televised, but you never know specifics. And, hells yes.

Chavo seems decent but I don't know I'd get too excited to see Chavo in PWG than someone like Finlay, who might probably do a few more indy bookings after his EVOLVE match against Sami Callihan, plus I'd be more interested seeing Finlay in matches against tons of guys in PWG than Chavo, who will probably take a full time job with TNA instead anyways

Sami Callihan is missing from all your lists and you should all feel bad. BOLA needs Sami Callihan.
