What Happend in PWG 2008?

Postby BOLA4ever » Sat Sep 24, 2011 7:07 pm

i was browsing through the results section and it seemed they focused on more home grown talent and not much fly ins. example Generico was absent from January to March.
Danielson didint make his return until BOLA 2008
Steen was on special shows except 1.21 Gigawatts
don't get me wrong the best thing about 2008 was Hero vs Tornado fued that was awesome and the Special Attraction shows were amazing
but the regular shows it didint seem to have that much star power compared to today.

There still looked to be a lot of non-locals. Chris Hero and Roderick Strong were coming in for nearly every show. El Generico, Claudio, Jack Evans, Eddie Kingston and Necro Butcher worked a lot. PWG brought in Incoherence, Low-Ki, Chuck Taylor and Kenny Omega for a couple of shows. It just looks like they gave some of the regular fly-in's from the past a break to try out some new guys. With Hero/Tornado dominating most of the year, PWG really didn't need Danielson or Steen for every show.

People being absent for a few shows I would just chalk up to scheduling conflicts.

Yeah pretty much scheduling conflicts I'd imagine, I remember there was 1 month that year where Dragon worked ROH, AAA, WWE and I think NOAH too.
