Chris Bosh and B-Boy in Japan Update

Postby JustJay » Sat Jul 08, 2006 10:34 am

Chris Bosh and B-Boy both had their first matches today in their weeklong tour of Japan as part of Dragon Gate's Wrestle JAM series, and both came out victorious. Bosh won a three-way over Akira Tozawa (the leader of the Tozawa-juku stable) and Final M2K's Keni'chiro Arai, pinning Tozawa. B-Boy's win actually came in the main event, with a direct fall in a trios match over Jack Evans. Complete Day 1 results below:

1. Magnum TOKYO, BxB Hulk, Matt Sydal{W} (Shooting Sydal Press) Gamma, Naoki Tanisaki, Jimmy Rave{L}
2. Magnitude Kishiwada (Diving Body Press) The Turboman
3. 3 Way Match
Chris Bosh (Maximum Bosh) Akira Tozawa{L}, Keni'chiro Arai
4. Dragon Kid, Genki Horiguchi, King Shisa{W} (BT Bomb) Masaaki Mochizuki, Susumu Yokosuka, Az{L}
5. Austin Aries (450 Splash) Ryo Saito

No notes on the show really, other than Jimmy Rave got toilet-papered just like he does in the US (DG educated their fans to do that through their messageboard before he arrived). Also, he DIDN'T get pinned in that match, Naoki Tanisaki (who gets pinned in nearly EVERY match his squad loses) took the fall instead.

Also, an SCU poster wrote that Bosh actually DIDN'T win his match, Arai did...but Jae from DGUSA is fairly reliable with his translations, and he also doesn't have the slightest clue who Chris Bosh and B-Boy are (he hates and generally doesn't follow US wrestling...long story, he's an odd guy) so I doubt he pulled "Bosh wins with Maximum Bosh" out of his ass.

If it was a mistake, it'll be corrected by him or Kris Zellner tomorrow. I'll keep updating this thread with the PWG crew's Japan results for convenience's sake.

Bosh and B-Boy did not have the same luck today, falling in the opening match at Differ Ariake (along with Naoki Tanisaki of the Muscle Outlaw'z) to DoFIXER superteam Magnum TOKYO, Ryo Saito and Dragon Kid. Who took the pin isn't shown, but it was likely perennial DG punching bag Tanisaki.

7/9/2006 Tokyo, Differ Ariake
1. Dragon Kid, Ryo Saito, Magnum TOKYO (Dragon Suplex Hold) Chris Bosh, B-Boy, Naoki Tanisaki
2. King Shisa (Llave) Takayuki Mori
3. Gamma, Magnitude Kishiwada{W} (Diving Body Press) The Turboman{L}, Turbo-yan
4. 3 Way Ladder Match
Jack Evans (Fushichoukon) Genki Horiguchi, Akira Tozawa{L}
5. Jimmy Rave (Greetings from Ghana) BxB Hulk
6. Masaaki Mochizuki, Susumu Yokosuka{W}, Keni'chiro Arai (Mugen) CIMA, Matt Sydal, Az{L}
7. ROH Tag Titles
Austin Aries{W}, Roderick Strong (450 Splash) Masato Yoshino{L}, Naruki Doi

This DG tour looks so damn sick. Hopefully us US residents get to own all of these matches sometime soon.

Unfortunately, results revealed Bosh took the fall yesterday, not Tanisaki, and that trend continued today, as Bosh ate the pin in the main event of today's Yokohama show, a PWG vs. ROH vs. DG 3way tag match.

7/10/2006 Kanagawa, Yokohama Red Brick Arena
1. Dragon Kid{W}, King Shisa (Ultra Hurricanrana) Susumu Yokosuka, Keni'chiro Arai{L}
2. Naoki Tanisaki, Gamma{W} (Blitzen) The Turboman{L}, Turbo-yan
3. Masato Yoshino, Magnitude Kishiwada, Jimmy Rave{W} (Greetings from Ghana) Ryo Saito, Magu-yan, Genki Horiguchi{L}
4. Masaaki Mochizuki (Saikyou High Kick) Roderick Strong
5. 3 Way Tag Match
CIMA{W}, BxB Hulk (Schwein) B-Boy, Chris Bosh{L}; Matt Sydal, Austin Aries

Jimmy Rave getting TP'd in Japan is the greatest thing I've ever heard. I need to see that!

I guess I'll Fill in for SuplexMonthlyJay today, who's out with a bad case of having to live in Boston.

The losing streak continues for our PWG boys in the land where underpants are sold via vending machines. As they both suffered losses on today's show. With B-Boy having the power of BXB Hulkamania run wild on him, while Christmas Bosh came up short in a 3-way contest. After Turbo-yan (who may or may not be based on the character from the smash hit holiday classic "Jingle All The Way") scored the pin after a diving body press.

7/11/2006 Shizuoka, Kira Messe Numazu

1. Magnum TOKYO, Dragon Kid{W}, BxB Hulk (Ultra Hurricanrana) Masato Yoshino, Jimmy Rave, B-Boy{L}
2. 3 Way Match
Turbo-yan (Diving Body Press) Chris Bosh{L}; Masaaki Mochizuki
3. Mexico Rules
CIMA, King Shisa, The Turboman (2-1) Magnitude Kishiwada, Gamma, Naoki Tanisaki
-Naoki (Implant) Turboman
-CIMA (Mad Splash) Gamma
-Turboman (Small Package Hold) Naoki
4. Susumu Yokosuka (Mugen) Matt Sydal
5. ROH Tag Titles
Austin Aries{W}, Roderick Strong (450 Splash) Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi{L} *V13 for GeNext

Doi, Evans, and Az remain out injured.

In the immortal words of Vincent Van Goghs' suicide note: "La Tristesse Durera" for our PWG contingent in the land where Santa is on par with Jesus. As they came up on the losing end once again, when they joined forces to face Masaaki Mochizuki and Keni'chiro Arai. The end came when Chris Bosh submited to the Minoru Special. Now we all know, Chris Bosh never quits. So I can only assume Earl Hebner was the ref, and screwed Bosh out of the match, even though he swore on kids he wouldn't.

This marks the end of Chris Bosh and B-Boy's tour of duty in Japan.
Their record, a chart busting 1-4 a piece. Still, has to be quite an honor for them to even get to perform in Japan. Let's hope they get to return, very soon.

7/12/2006 Tokyo, Korakuen Hall
1. Anthony W. Mori{W}, BxB Hulk (11:21 Elegant Magic) Genki Horiguchi, Az{L}
2. Magu-yan, Turbo-yan{W}, The Turboman (10:52 Nice German) Gamma, Naoki Tanisaki{L}
3. Masaaki Mochizuki{W}, Keni'chiro Arai (8:42 Minoru Special) B-Boy, Chirs Bosh{L}
4. Magnitude Kishiwada (11:53 La Magistral) King Shisa
5. Susumu Yokosuka (13:36 Jumbo no Kachi!gatame) Austin Aries
6. JAM Cup 4 Way Tag Match
Roderick Strong, Matt Sydal def. CIMA, Don Fujii; Jimmy Rave; Masato Yoshino; Ryo Saito, Dragon Kid
-CIMA (12:55 Schwein Steiner) Kid
-Roderick (Stronghold) Rave
-Sydal (Shooting Sydal Press) CIMA
