TNA PPV Card For Sunday

Postby SoCalAndy » Tue Jan 10, 2006 1:23 am

I didn't even know it was Sunday.

-Sting & Christian Cage vs. Jeff Jarrett and Monty Brown: I'm not excited about this match. Sting's appeal wore off along time ago in my mind, and I don't care for Jarrett and Brown. Christian in TNA hasn't been that great to me. I'm guessing TNA is going for nostalgia insted of good wrestling in this one and are trying to further progress the Cage/Jarrett feud till Against All Odds.

-Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels: Eh, it's obvious Joe is going to win. I'm not excited about this match as the build up has been weak. It should be good and all, but I'm just not feeling it.

-America's Most Wanted vs. Team 3D: Mixed feelings. I enjoyed the brawl with Rhyno and Jarrett, as they worked well and had a nice brawl. The tables match was really terrible and Team 3D is really sloppy inside the ring.

-AJ Styles vs. Tanahashi: I have no clue who Tanahashi is. I think it's weak that TNA is just having this as a "AJ vs. Random NJPW guy that our fanboys will drool over just because it's AJ against some Japanese guy!" type match.

-Rhino vs. Abyss: I have no idea why they're wrestling eachother, so I could care less.

-Raven vs. An Opponent of Larry Z's Choosing: I can't comment as I don't know who he's wrestling. Chances are though that it might suck.

As a former TNA hater, I've felt I've gotten my money's worth out of the last 4 PPVs I've ordered (which are the only 4 of the 3-hours I've gotten).

To all of you who shit on it right off the bat, maybe you should give it a chance.

I've been giving TNA plenty of chances, but I have never been fully satisfied with one of their events. They always have atleast one above average match, but everything else falls flat.

TNA's undercard matches aren't offensively bad. WWE's are.

Generation Next, Sonjay Dutt, Eric Young, Shark Boy > Jerry Lawler wrestling (AND GOING OVER) in 2006.

Not that thats a bad thing, since it will hope lead to a new PWG star in May or so.

At least it wasn't the second to last match on a PPV! See: Unforgiven 2002. Me in the 4th row in my Hurricane shirt. Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler vs Jonathan Coachman & Al Snow.

Hey, Jerry Lawler in a semi-main event isn't as bad as Kevin Nash in a main event!

I look at it this way. Raw sucks donkey balls, plain and simple. Even with Joey Styles, Shawn Michaels, Shelton Benjamin and Gregory Helms, the entire roster is just awful. (see this past Monday's show to see just how low they've gotten) SmackDown is good (this Friday's show will be great viewing), although they have to put up with some poor booking from time to time. TNA has been improving since they removed Dusty Rhodes as booker. The mathes AJ, Chris and Joe have put together have been great. Most of the heavyweight bouts are underwhelming, this is true, but there are guys who are able to bust their butts putting on great matches.

Not to mention Nash couldn't even make the main event at Bound for Glory after having heart complications.

I think everyone is trying to ignore that dark year in professional wrestling. Thanks for bringing back the bad memories!
